Wednesday I got the email that I’d been waiting for. Sigh of Relief Organizing, LLC is officially a business! I’m super pumped, if you couldn’t tell.
This little journey started a year ago we we moved from central Minnesota to beautiful Seattle, Washington. That plane ride to my new life was filled with anxiety, excitement and several trips to the little bathroom (the boys love those bathrooms)!
I did get a chance to skim the Delta Sky magazine on the flight. I was surprised to read that personal assistance and professional organizers were popular on the west coast. Busy working couples need someone to run errands, buy groceries, walk the dog and other daily chores. They were hiring people to help their college students move into their dorm rooms. They hire people to make their home offices more productive and organize the playroom or garage.
I have been a domestic goddess off and on for several years. I knew I could do these jobs and do them very well. I wanted to get a career where I could help people while still being with my family as much as possible. I wanted to use my brain for more than just laundry success.

After soul searching, attending a professional organizing meeting, chatting with acquaintances and reading a few dozen books from the library, I decided to take the leap of faith and apply with the State of Washington for a business license.
Wish me luck and happy organizing!
